Alex Byrom is a seasoned UX strategist, full-stack designer, and researcher with a rich history of collaborating with diverse clients, such as Green Flag, Direct Line, Vision Express, Glenlivet, Microsoft, Age UK, British Gas, Capita, and ParkingEye. His past projects span across multiple domains, including full UX design for backend systems, e-commerce sites, large recruitment sites, online booking funnels, and utility apps. He has also managed community engagement for a large gaming community and participated in video game production.
Alex currently serves as a Senior UX Designer at Legal & General, where he's accomplished notable successes such as the redesign of the group protection site and content optimization of the LGIM site. Prior to this, he was a Senior UX Consultant at Ensono Digital and a Senior UX/Experience design consultant at Direct Line Group. Throughout his career, Alex has shown his capacity to deliver exceptional customer experiences and strategic digital solutions, earning key successes in system redesign, service overhaul, and content strategy.
He began his journey in the digital realm at Dare as a UX designer and experience planner, where he held a multifaceted role that included UX design, analysis, and customer experience strategy. During his tenure, Alex led several successful redesign projects, including Vision Express's careers page, Corporate Eyecare, and various sections of the website.
Before stepping into the world of UX, Alex spent over three years at Capita in various marketing roles. His accomplishments there include managing the design of a utility app, updating website CMS and email automation tools, and building AR solutions for bids, among other things.
Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Multiplayer Online Games Design from Staffordshire University and a Certificate in Professional Marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Alex brings a unique combination of skills to the table. His ability to merge game design techniques with UX strategies sets him apart in the industry.
In his early career, Alex showed an affinity for game development, ranking second as a developer on Game DB.
